All About base6 Design
Hi, I’m Michael Kimb Jones (blog, twitter) – everyone calls me ‘Kimb’ – it’s a bit of a long story which I won’t go into. I’ve been making websites and doing graphic design work for over 12 years.
I’ve worked for the NHS in Barnsley, South Yorkshire since 2001 helping to create and maintain internal and external websites and web-based applications. Most of this work is internal to the NHS, but you can see the public facing Barnsley Hospital Website here.
Starting base6
I started base6 as an outlet for freelance work in 2005, after working on a project with a local small business. The project required a new logo, a website, a few 1000 business cards and the design of some corporate flyers and posters.
Before this, I’d been courted for freelance work many, many times – but this was the first real project that that allowed me to be creative and, most importantly, help a local business get the right solution for their needs.
After this initial project. I started to market myself as a freelance designer under the title of base6 design limited.
Since launching base6 I have worked on many interesting projects, some of which you can see in the portfolio.
How much will a project cost?
I’m asked this question almost every week. The problem is there’s is no simple answer, as project costs vary depending on the details involved.
The most important thing to remember when starting a design project is to clearly define what you actually need.
base6 has a set of easy to understand pricing details, once you are clued up just drop me a line and I will give you a free quote.
